Your birth chart is intimate. We treat it that way. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have.
1. Information we collect
Birth & profile data
- Full name (you choose what to share)
- Date, time, and place of birth — required for chart calculation
- Gender (optional — used only for grammar in narratives)
- Phone number and/or email — only if you provide them for OTP login or alerts
Generated content
The full Vedic analysis returned by our engines (planetary positions, dashas, doshas, narratives) is stored against your chart record so we can show you the report on demand without recomputing.
Technical data
Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention.
Payment data
Razorpay handles your card / UPI / netbanking details directly. We never see, store, or process raw card numbers, CVVs, or banking credentials. We receive only a payment ID, status, and amount.
2. Why we collect it
- To calculate and display your Vedic chart and reading
- To send the report and any updates you opt into
- To process your purchases and provide customer support
- To improve our service (in aggregate, anonymously)
- To comply with applicable Indian law
3. Anonymous reports
You can generate a free chart without creating an account. In that case, we keep only the data needed to render the report (no email, no phone) and tie it to a non-guessable URL. Only someone with that URL can view the report.
4. Storage & security
Charts are stored in our PostgreSQL database (encrypted at rest) plus an additional encrypted backup in Cloudflare R2. Connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS).
5. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share the minimum necessary data with:
- Razorpay — for payment processing
- Our Vedic engine — birth data only, to compute the chart
- Email / SMS providers — name + contact only when you've opted in
- Authorities — only if compelled by valid legal process
6. Cookies & tracking
We use only essential cookies needed for login (httpOnly auth token) and a localStorage entry that remembers reports you've recently viewed (so we can show "Recently Viewed" on the report page). We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
7. Your rights
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold on you
- Correction — fix anything that is inaccurate
- Deletion — request that we erase your account and reports
- Opt-out — unsubscribe from any non-essential emails or alerts at any time

8. Children
Divya Maarg is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
